We are committed to respecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal theatre diary, ticket stubs, and show memories remain secure and private. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application and website handle information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

StageStory is designed with a privacy-first approach. Most of your data remains exclusively on your personal device:

Locally Stored Data:

• Theatre journal entries (show titles, venues, dates, seats, ratings, and notes)
• Photos of physical ticket stubs, playbills, and curtain call memories attached by you
• Cast and understudy tracking records (Dramatis Personae notes)
• Show wishlists and upcoming show reminders
• Season recap analytics and personal viewing statistics
• App theme and display preferences

All of the above data is stored locally on your device using encrypted mobile storage and is not sold, rented, or collected on remote servers.

Photo Library Access:

StageStory requires permission to access your device's photo library solely to allow you to attach images of tickets, program covers, or theater memories to your entries. We only read the photos you explicitly select inside the app.

AI Cast Lookup Queries:

When using our automated AI Cast Lookup feature, the app sends non-personal search queries (such as the show name and theater venue) to fetch official production cast lists. No personal identifier or user identity is sent with these queries.

Subscription & Payment Data:

In-app subscription transactions are processed directly by Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play) through our billing partner RevenueCat. We never receive or store your credit card details or financial information.

How We Use Your Information

The information stored locally on your device is used strictly to:

• Maintain your personal digital playbill and theatre journal
• Calculate season recaps, show counts, and venue statistics
• Display cast lists and track understudy / cover performances
• Provide show reminders for items saved in your Wishlist
• Enable premium subscription features (if purchased)

Data Storage & Security

We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your information. Because your journal data is stored locally on your device, you maintain full physical and digital control over it. Uninstalling the app will clear your locally stored app data unless backed up through standard iOS/Android device backups.

Third-Party Services

StageStory utilizes trusted third-party service providers for core functionality:

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For application distribution and secure payment processing.
• RevenueCat: For managing in-app subscription entitlements without storing sensitive billing details.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, StageStory uses your device's native notification system to deliver upcoming show reminders from your Wishlist. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

StageStory is a general-audience application and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take prompt action.

Your Data Rights & Choices

Under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to:

• Access all of your journal data directly within the app
• Edit or delete any show entry, photo, or wishlist item at any time
• Export or delete your local database by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
• Opt out of push notifications via your mobile device settings
